Yin yoga  richt zich op het versterken en het versoepelen van het bindweefsel en de gewrichten  in het lichaam. Aan je spieren wordt ook gewerkt, maar dat is niet het belangrijkste. Het is een langzame vorm van yoga. Je blijft een aantal  minuten in eenzelfde houding. Het is een zachte, heel aangename yoga om even tot rust te komen.

Hatha yoga wordt verbonden aan de term krachtig. Krachtig betekent overigens niet dat er tijdens de lessen  niet wordt toegewerkt naar een ontspanning. De vurige energie van de "Ha" of zon is even belangrijk als de kalme energie van de "The" of maan.Bij Hatha draait het om evenwicht en uiteindelijk wordt er door in- en ontspanning meer balans verkregen.
