J and L Watersports FAQsWhat lakes will you be going to?Right now we ride out of Boca Reservoir and Lake Almanor, but may add other locations later.How many people can the boat hold?We prefer to keep the max to 10 adults/children. After you book, please send a message to let us know how many adults and children will be attending.Where do I meet you?You’ll meet us at the main boat launch for Boca Reservoir. The links for directions are above and will take you directly to the parking lot. We will be in the staging area getting ready to launch.What do I bring?Water and non-alcoholic drinks (pro tip: freeze a few the night before so they are still cold later in the day)Lunch/Snacks (premade sandwiches or wraps, dip, pretzels, chips, crackers, popcorn, energy bars (no chocolate!), dried fruit, nuts, jerky) - many more ideas if you search Pinterest ;-)We have an ice chest for your drinks, but you can bring your own small cooler (soft sided preferred) as well.TowelIf early, bring a hoodie or sweatpantsCoast Guard Approved life jacket (f you don’t have one, please contact us for sizing)Sunscreen lotion (NO sprays!)What should I NOT bring?AlcoholColored foods or drinks as it’s easy to spill on a boat and guests are responsible for costs to remove stains.Anything with chocolate in it. It will melt. Trust us.Extra people not on the booking list.Pets.What are basic boat rules/etiquette?Be on time. We have other group bookings and won’t be able to extend your time if late.Anyone 13 and under are required to wear their life jackets at all times.Do not distract the captain, especially when launching, docking, or if there is a rider in the water. Safety first!No shoes on the boat. Ever. Only clean feet.Try not to walk on the seats. There are transoms and non-skid decking throughout the boat designed to walk on.When the boat is moving, stay seated.Young kids love to be on the sides/front to see the action, but they need to be on their knees or bum, never standing, at the edge.Help clean up. Pack out all trash and double check you didn’t leave any items behind.Is there an age restriction? No, but if you plan to bring a child that’s under 2, please contact us.Any physical restrictions? Yes! You need to be able to climb into the boat when out of the water. It’s 8 feet above ground and only 3 steps to get up, so feel free to stretch before climbing up. ;-)Yes!
