In this hands-on class, kids will learn about natural dyes and create their own one-of-a-kind bandana using a dye made from natural products.We'll explore how people colored fabric before modern dyes, experiment with different folding and tying techniques, and watch as simple kitchen scraps transform plain fabric into beautiful art.Each child will dye their own bandana during class and take home their finished creation, along with new knowledge about plant-based dyes and traditional homesteading skills. After a long summer break—or for those joining us for the very first time—sometimes the best way to start Farm School is to simply slow down and enjoy the farm.Instead of a structured project, this class is all about settling back into farm life. We'll spend time meeting the animals, reviewing how to safely interact with them, exploring the farm, playing on the playground, and enjoying unhurried time with old and new friends. Whether you're returning or this is your first visit, this relaxed kickoff gives everyone a chance to feel comfortable, build confidence, and soak up everything that makes farm life so special. Sometimes the best learning happens when we simply take the time to be on the farm.

4 hour excursion. On this tour we get a chance to see the back side of the resorts and explore some of the forestry.  We'll stop at Bluff Lake for lunch (you bring or you can have us add it to your tour), and then continue on to a magical vista where you can almost see Catalina (we did say almost), and then return from the back side of Bear Mountain.  There are many opportunities for photos along the way.

2 hour excursion.  This tour goes around the lake, stops at the dam for a photo op, continues through the village and finishes with a trip through Moonloaf.  We take our time enjoy the views of Big Bear Lake!
