One hour private, music instrument lesson. Enjoy the ultimate convenience of in home lessons.We utilize methodology which is unique to our company. We teach through composition and creative writing which leads to greater confidence and musical growth. Our teachers are the highest level touring and compositional musicians.Students participate in quarterly concerts and ensembles. Advanced students may further their musical journey by participating in open mic events and performances.Your NYC Music Foundry teacher will create unique custom compositions specifically tailored to meet your specific musical aspirations. We provide all the instruments necessary to begin, and help each student acquire the right gear for practice between lessons.Group lessons are also available at a reduced rate when two or more students practice together. This is NOT a music instrument lesson that leads you nowhere!Forge your musical path!

This course is for students in grades 2 and up in their first 3 semesters of Hebrew Home Page OR for students still learning to decode the alefbet and vowels. Students will learn the aleph-bet and Hebrew vowels and how to put them together to read simple Hebrew words and phrases. 

This course is for students who know how to decode Hebrew, have completed the course in Learn to Read Hebrew and are ready to read and chant prayers. Students can take this course multiple semesters to cover a wide-range of prayers, including those unique to Reform and Reconstructionist congregations.  Tutors will follow an individualized prayer list provided by their Educational Director. Sessions will also include brief explanations of the prayers and also an opportunity to hear them chanted.

This course is for students who know how to decode Hebrew, have completed Learn to Read Hebrew and are ready to read prayers. Students can take this course multiple semesters to cover a wide-range of prayers in the traditional Siddur found in Conservative congregations. Tutors will follow an individualized list of prayers provided by your Educational Director.  Sessions will also include brief explanations of the prayers and also an opportunity to hear them chanted. If you received a CODE from your educational director, you will be able to use it here to override tuition charge.

In this "French Brush-Up" one-on-one online lesson, you'll revisit the basics and get a better feel for your current level.  Dust off the old HS or college cobwebs and get back to speaking French! Follow-up lessons will build off your current level.Topics may include:Salutations, greetings, and introductions.  Asking and responding to questions.  Weather.  Idiomatic Expressions.  Cultural Topics.  

In this "French Travel-Prep" one-on-one online lesson, you'll learn the fundamentals of getting around and feeling confident speaking French as you immerse yourself in a new country and culture! Perfect for those of you who will be sightseeing, dining out, and having fun on the town! *Follow-up lessons will build off your current level.Topics may include:Travel vocabulary specific to travel by plane, boat, train or car.  Travel vocabulary specific to reserving a hotel or other accommodations.  Emergency services (i.e. doctor visits, hospitalization, police assistance, etc.)  Ordering in a restaurant or café.  Giving and understanding directions.  Country specific cultural norms.  

In this "Spanish Brush-Up" one-on-one online lesson, you'll revisit the basics and get a better feel for your current level.  Dust off the old HS or college cobwebs and get back to speaking Spanish! Follow-up lessons will build off your current level.Topics may include:Salutations, greetings, and introductions.  Asking and responding to questions.  Weather.  Idiomatic Expressions.  Cultural Topics.  

Does your student struggle in school in a particular area? Tutoring services provides K-5 students with additional support as well as various strategies to promote growth and retention of information. Students will be given an assessment to determine his/her skill level so that a personalized plan can be developed. This is teaching student new content or content he/she should have learned in a previous grade level. Note: Payments must be made 24 hours prior to scheduled session to secure your spot. Is your student ready to learn the fundamentals of reading? Or maybe your student needs additional help with reading? The Ready Reader Program is based on effective and proven reading and phonics strategies and techniques. Whether your child is just learning to read or he/she is still struggling with reading, we can help your child unlock the key to reading one phoneme at a time! Students typically improve their DRA/Reading AZ scores by two levels. Note: Payments must be made 24 hours prior to scheduled session to secure your spot. Does your student need to be challenged beyond the classroom? The Super Scholar Program is for students who excel in a subject area and needs that additional extension activities for deepen their knowledge of a particular concept. This service would be for a student in second grade who has mastered repeated addition and is ready for the 3rd grade concept of multiplication. Note: Payments must be made 24 hours prior to scheduled session to secure your spot. Cancellations are required within 24hrs of booked session(s) or fee will be forfeited. The History Department is now offering free writing tutoring for all students. Jenny, the Department tutor, is also a tutor at the Writing Learning Center. In the History Writing Center, She can help you draft your ideas, look over final drafts, and assist you with any questions you may have. The History Writing Center is equipped to answer questions about theses, focus, mechanics, development, and even citations.
