The Advice Hub provides confidential and independent advice to University of Strathclyde students on a range of issues as detailed below. All advisers can offer emotional support and information on general health and wellbeing. We cannot provide information or advice on immigration matters (including Tier 4 visas) or legal matters or non-University debt. Please ensure you check below to book with the adviser best placed to support you.
Academic advice includes: Personal Circumstances, Academic Appeals, University disciplines and Fitness to Practice, University complaints, harassment and bullying, Voluntary Suspension, course-related issues, and many others.
Finance and Money Advice
Finance and money advice includes: Student funding bodies, student loans and bursaries, emergency funding, Discretionary Fund applications, and other money questions.
Other Housing Advice
Other Housing advice includes: University accommodation, private rented accommodation, homelessness, rights and responsibilities, tenancy checking, landlord/tenant disputes, deposit disputes.
Benefits advice includes: Eligibility and application advice for benefits such as Universal Credit, Personal Independence Payment/Adult Disability Payment, Child Benefit, etc. Mandatory reconsiderations and tribunal support.
Other Enquiries and Signposting
Guidance and signposting on any other matter, including where to access support for mental health, immigration and visas, employment, consumer rights, and general student life enquiries.
Finding Accommodation Advice
Finding Accommodation advice includes: guidance on where to search for accommodation, both privately and from student accommodation providers. Please note that the Advice Hub does not maintain lists of available accommodation or have access to accomm
