Hi, my name is Emdadul and I'm a final year medical student at Manchester. I have many years of both teaching and tutoring experience. I like to break down difficult concepts and use references where the student can apply them to the real world, to help make them easier to understand. I then apply what they've learnt to exam style questions or past papers, as exam focus is key and it's all about practice. I'm a 2nd year medical student at University College London, with two years tutoring experience. I have recently completed the International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma, scoring 41/42 in my subjects (including Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics at Higher Level)* and 2/3 core points.
To me, effective tutoring is all about working with my student to find the best way I can help them. This means that I can tailor my focus to their needs in a way that helps them get the most benefit out of our sessions. I am particularly proficient at improving grades and teaching effective exam technique to ensure the student gets the grades they need for university.
I am also prepared to help both students that want long-term continuous help where a progress plan will be created, as well as students that want occasional one-off sessions looking for some help on a specific topic.

For the past 3 years I have tutored students in science and maths, and during my gap year in 2021, I taught Biology and Chemistry at a grammar school in London.
I have a very good knowledge of effective revision strategies and of the GCSE/ A level specifications that I teach. At GCSE, I teach AQA, Edexcel and OCR Biology, and Edexcel Maths. At A Level, I teach OCR, Edexcel and AQA Biology, and Edexcel Maths.
I have a lot of experience tutoring/mentoring students hoping to pursue a career in Medicine. I've tutored many students for the UCAT and BMAT and also have lots of experience mentoring students with their personal statement.
Having myself had tuition, I know how much a positive and patient approach can help to instil confidence and facilitate learning. I like to communicate well with my students and set goals in the first lesson according to what they want to achieve from tutoring. When I begin tutoring a new student I also give them a revision timetable/tracker based on their specification. I then plan lessons according to what areas they are most weak on and what they are currently working on in class. I like to make my lessons engaging and enjoyable, covering the foundations of what needs to be learnt and keeping track of the student’s progress.
