Using a pinch pot hollow sphere technique we will build our bird feeders and have the opportunity to personalize them with carvings or additions.

This workshop is suitable for ages 14 to 100, and minors must be accompanied by a participating adult.

Come join us at Dame Errant for a delightful workshop on creating your very own pinch pot mug! Perfect for any time of year and unique to your own style and comfort.

Using one of the earliest techniques to form clay, you'll get your hands dirty and experience the joy of molding and shaping clay with your fingers.

Long nails are not recommended for the pinch pot technique.

AGE:

This workshop is suitable for ages 12 to 100, minors must be accompanied by a participating adult.

ROGUE OPTIONS:

If you don’t need any more mugs, consider using the pinch pot technique to make a little matcha bowl, snack bowl, or trinket dish.

COST:

Students will be guided on how to create three mushroom ornaments from stoneware clay.

We will be creating these so that they can sit up on their own and glazing them all with red tops per traditional yule mushrooms. We will guide students in installing the optional wire loop so the mushrooms can easily be hung.

FIRING AND PICK UP:

After a few weeks, return to pick up your finished piece.

We gently press your child's hand or foot into a stoneware clay.  The the clay dries slowly and requires 2 firings and time to paint them.

Please allow 4-6 weeks for completion due to the unique process.

*You’ll create one impressions of either a handprint OR footprint, an additional print can be added for $20

Our Ceramic Impressions feature custom options such as the imprint color and you can also add-on your child’s name and/or age to the ornament. Each imprint will be returned with a ribbon for hanging. 

All impressions will have holes for hanging unless you tell us you do not want them.

**Please note-sizes are based on “wet clay”.  There will be some shrinkage during firing process.

Capture the detail of your baby's tiny fingers and toes while they are still a newborn.

We’ll transform them to a unique keepsake, with all birth details included.

The Quad Birth Plate impression is only available when your child is 4 weeks and younger.

If you're looking to spend a couple of hours of uninterrupted quiet time, this is the perfect lesson. It's just you, maybe some music, and the wheel. The individual introductory lesson includes approximately 1.5 hours of private instruction and includes all tools, 2 pounds of clay, and enough glaze to complete one finished and fired piece.
