As part of the St Stithians College Grade 8 application process, all potential applicants are requested to meet with a member of our senior academic staff. These meetings are for us to get to know you and your son, and for you and your son to get to know us. Please note that if your son has received academic support or has a remedial background we request that he be interviewed by a member of our SPACE (academic support unit) staff.

As part of the St Stithians College Grade 8 application process, all potential applicants are requested to meet with a member of our senior academic staff. St Stithians College is an all inclusive mainstream institution and offers academic support to a limited number of children that require it. In order for an applicant to be considered for a place on the academic support stream we require further assessments to be done. These are administered by our academic support unit (SPACE) staff.

*Only if your son did not attend "Saints Experience"* As part of the Grade 8 2021 application process we require all applicants to write our internal bench marking assessment. The results of these assessments provide valuable insight into the current cohort and assist us in class planning etc. For an understanding on why we do these assessments please see below: The assessments we use for grade 7 applicants are not entrance exams. We assess literacy and numeracy skills to determine where the boys are with regard to their skills development. The reading tests that we have used are all internationally recognised psychometric tests of reading comprehension. We change the tests from year to year to ensure that schools are not preparing boys on these assessments. The Maths test is a test of Maths thinking skills and problem-solving skills. It is internally developed by our Maths Dept and does not assess any curriculum content, but rather thinking skills and problem-solving skills using Mathematical information and processes. It is imperative that boys are not prepped for these tests so that we can ensure we are getting a reliable indicator of their current literacy and mathematical problem-solving skills. The test results are not used to determine if they are offered places, but instead help us to get an idea of the levels of functioning of the intake we accept each year. We are a fully inclusive mainstream school and do not use these assessments as entrance tests but rather as a screening.

Glycolic acid, a natural compound derived from sugar cane, sugar beets, apples, grapes, pineapple, and cantaloupe, offers a range of transformative benefits for your skin. This treatment reduces the appearance of pores, exfoliates dead skin cells, enhances skin radiance, minimizes pigmentation and acne scarring, and softens fine lines and wrinkles. By gently removing excess sebum without stripping the skin’s natural oils, glycolic acid supports hydration and stimulates collagen production, leaving your skin healthier and smoother. Your moisturizer will penetrate deeper, and makeup will apply more flawlessly. After your treatment, you may experience mild redness for an hour or two, and a protective sunscreen will be applied. Light flaking may occur over the next few days, though this is not guaranteed. For optimal results, we recommend this treatment every 3–4 months. You can also enhance your experience by adding a nutrient-rich mask for just $30 to further nourish and rejuvenate your skin! $99 -$140

Microneedling is an advanced skincare technique, originally developed in France, that uses 24-karat gold hollow needles to inject a customized blend of vitamins, enzymes, botox, hyaluronic acid, and glycolic acid into the dermal layer of your skin. The ultra-thin needles, finer than a strand of hair, deliver these rejuvenating products precisely where they are most effective. This treatment is renowned for its ability to plump and firm the skin, especially in areas that are difficult to treat with other methods. It has been voted the Best New Cosmetic Treatment by Cosmetic Surgeons due to its impressive results. The procedure stimulates collagen production, instantly reducing crepey skin, minimizing pore size, and diminishing small capillaries around the nose. Suitable for the face, neck, and décolleté, this treatment is effective for all skin types and ages, with results that can last up to six months. Not recommended for pregnant or lactating clients, microneedling may cause slight redness and bumps on the day of treatment, which subside quickly. Pricing depends on the vial’s customized contents, allowing you to choose the best option for your unique skin needs.

Microdermabrasion is a powerful exfoliation system that uses a suction wand to deeply cleanse and restore your skin's brightness. Unlike other treatments, this advanced procedure can be used on both the face and body, making it highly versatile. Utilizing the Altair Surgical Grade Instrument, the first diamond-tipped device invented in 1999, it provides crystal-free exfoliation to smooth and refine the skin effectively. This treatment is particularly beneficial for acne scarring, especially on areas like the back and arms. It can also treat other areas of concern, including the face, lips, hands, feet, knees, elbows, and back, polishing and refining the skin to reveal a more radiant appearance. After the treatment, minor redness may occur for 24–48 hours, and applying sunscreen is essential to protect your skin. For acne scarring, treatments are recommended every two weeks for up to six sessions, followed by maintenance every three months. For other skin concerns, your skincare specialist can advise on the ideal frequency. All skin types can benefit from this amazing treatment, leaving your skin feeling lighter, cleaner, smoother, and gently exfoliated for days. *Please note: This treatment is not suitable if you are currently taking Accutane.* $140 for face neck declotte .
