This free workshop is designed for parents/carers of children aged 2 (or who are upwardly mobile) to 5 years – anyone who is interested can attend. Durante o acompanhamento da gravidez, os exames de ultrassom visam:- confirmar a idade gestacional e definir a data provável do parto- investigar anormalidades congênitas - avaliar o risco de síndromes genéticas fetais e de pré-eclâmpsia - examinar o colo uterino- acompanhar o crescimento e bem estar fetal- verificar a posição da placenta, quantidade de líquido amniótico e fluxos sanguíneos

O maior objetivo da assistência pré-natal é assegurar uma gestação e parto de bebê saudável com o menor risco materno possível.O pré-natal deve iniciar no primeiro trimestre da gestação, antes da 10ª semana. Nessa fase são colhidos os primeiros exames laboratoriais, história clínica e realizado exame físico que permitem identificar aquelas gestantes com maior risco de complicações. Assim, abre-se a oportunidade para o médico discutir com o casal os riscos e possíveis intervenções que devem ser feitas para prevenir resultado adverso.Durante o pré-natal recomenda-se que seja oferecido a todas as mulheres o rastreamento de aneuploidias antes da 20ª semana e elas podem optar por métodos de rastreio e/ou de diagnóstico invasivo(biópsia de vilo corial ou amniocentese). Com base no resultado desses exames, assim como da ultrassonografia morfológica, o obstetra deve aconselhar de forma imparcial e discutir as opções existentes com seus pacientes.
