Scholars in Training Education Center (SIT) was established in the summer of 2016 when the name and foundational principles of the program were nurtured by Keeyama Mumford. Spurred by a longtime desire to operate a philosophically innovative early childhood program, Keeyama pursued funding and space. Over time and after an extensive conversation with a close friend and Godmother to her children, Tierra Johnson decided to partner with Keeyama in making this dream a reality.

This 20 - 30 minute appointment is designed to assist in helping you prepare for orientation, and may be conducted in person or over the phone. This discussion is meant for me to get a sense of your plans so that we may navigate your degree path as it unfolds before you here at The W. We will also touch on your expectations and obligations as a student. Please schedule this appointment prior to your orientation date. If you are majoring in, or are considering a major in, Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Family Studies, Geography, History, Political Science, Psychology, Theater, and Theater Education please set up an appointment to meet with me. Welcome to your first semester of college! As you continue to adjust to college, it is time for you to meet with me, your Navigator, for a 1-on-1 meeting. During our meeting we will discuss your freshman year goals, make sure you are on track for a successful start, and you will also be able to ask me any questions you may have. You must schedule your appointment between August 23rd and September 7th. Any appointment scheduled prior to August 23rd will be cancelled. Once scheduled, you will receive a confirmation email with your appointment date and time.
