This initial session helps our team understand your concerns, background and goals before recommending the most appropriate assessment pathway for you or your child. For children and adolescents, the intake is generally completed with a parent or guardian. For adults, the session is completed directly with the person seeking assessment. During the session, we will discuss: The primary concerns and reasons for seeking assessment Medical, developmental, educational and mental health history Current symptoms and how they affect daily life Previous diagnoses, assessments or treatment Relevant school, university, workplace or family concerns Which assessment or specialist may be most appropriate The expected process, timing and costs Following the intake, our team will advise whether the next step should be an ADHD assessment, psychoeducational assessment, psychiatric consultation, therapy or another appropriate service.
