Durante la primera consulta realizo un diagnóstico clínico integral y preciso para identificar las causas que están detrás del aumento de peso y de las dificultades para perderlo o mantenerlo. La evaluación incluye condiciones frecuentemente asociadas como hipotiroidismo, resistencia a la insulina, prediabetes, diabetes, hígado graso, inflamación sistémica y trastornos de la conducta alimentaria, entendiendo que muchas de estas son tanto causa como consecuencia de la obesidad.La consulta se apoya en una evaluación de composición corporal con bioimpedancia de última generación, de calidad hospitalaria, que permite analizar grasa corporal, masa muscular, agua corporal y otros indicadores relevantes de salud metabólica, función y longevidad.A partir de este diagnóstico, definimos una estrategia integral y personalizada que aborda la causa raíz del problema, ya que cuando estas causas no se atienden, el peso perdido suele recuperarse. Como parte de la consulta se entrega un plan nutricional y un plan de ejercicio adaptados a las necesidades clínicas y al contexto de cada persona. El objetivo no es únicamente bajar de peso, sino lograr una pérdida sostenible y mantenerla a largo plazo, cuidando la salud metabólica, la funcionalidad y la calidad de vida.

La consulta de seguimiento es una parte fundamental del proceso terapéutico. En ella se evalúa la evolución clínica, los cambios en la composición corporal, la respuesta al plan nutricional y de ejercicio, así como la presencia de síntomas o efectos secundarios, especialmente en personas que utilizan agonistas de GLP-1 u otros medicamentos, incluyendo la necesidad de ajustar dosis o cambiar de marca o de fármaco cuando es clínicamente indicado.Durante estas consultas se realizan los ajustes necesarios al plan integral, se revisa la adherencia, se trabajan obstáculos frecuentes y se refuerza el acompañamiento médico para prevenir recaídas o recuperación de peso.
