However, if you are booking this play area to use the agility equipment please note that no dogs under 1 year should be using jumps as this is not beneficial for their physical development - please place the poles on the floor for young dogs. Due to the incline this area is great for dogs who like a bit more of a challenge when zooming and playing, although it is not recommended for sighthounds or dogs with mobility issues.This play area contains equipment and play obstacles to suit all sizes, including tunnels, weaves, jumps and more. Each play area has a shelter to help stay dry on rainy days. St Stithians College is an all inclusive mainstream institution and offers academic support to a limited number of children that require it. In order for an applicant to be considered for a place on the academic support stream we require further assessments to be done. These are administered by our academic support unit (SPACE) staff.

*Only if your son did not attend "Saints Experience"* As part of the Grade 8 2021 application process we require all applicants to write our internal bench marking assessment. The results of these assessments provide valuable insight into the current cohort and assist us in class planning etc. For an understanding on why we do these assessments please see below: The assessments we use for grade 7 applicants are not entrance exams. We assess literacy and numeracy skills to determine where the boys are with regard to their skills development. The reading tests that we have used are all internationally recognised psychometric tests of reading comprehension. We change the tests from year to year to ensure that schools are not preparing boys on these assessments. The Maths test is a test of Maths thinking skills and problem-solving skills. It is internally developed by our Maths Dept and does not assess any curriculum content, but rather thinking skills and problem-solving skills using Mathematical information and processes. It is imperative that boys are not prepped for these tests so that we can ensure we are getting a reliable indicator of their current literacy and mathematical problem-solving skills. The test results are not used to determine if they are offered places, but instead help us to get an idea of the levels of functioning of the intake we accept each year. We are a fully inclusive mainstream school and do not use these assessments as entrance tests but rather as a screening.
