This workshop has been designed to provide evidence-based information and strategies to support families to ensure that their children reach their active play developmental milestones and foster a love of being active. This free workshop is designed for parents/carers of children aged 2 (or who are upwardly mobile) to 5 years – anyone who is interested can attend. Parents will have an opportunity to gain and share knowledge with other parents about how their baby grows and develops. It is being run jointly by speech pathologists from the Child Development Service and dietitians from ACT Heath. Information covered will include: readiness signs for solids, seating and positioning for meals, first foods, moving on from smooth purees, introducing finger foods, creating positive mealtimes and cup drinking.
