Requires a background and criminal history check. The fee for Inbound FFL Transfers is $40 for Virginia residents and $50 for out-of-state residents. Additional weapons that are part of the same transfer have a reduced $10 FFL Transfer fee each. This fee is to be paid directly to K3 Armory before your appointment time - regardless of background check results.

Store Pickup/FFL Transfer for local customers for a firearm that was purchased directly from K3 Armory. We will notify you when your item is in-stock and ready for pickup at our location in Chesterfield, VA. There is no fee for transfers/pickups on firearms purchased directly from K3 Armory.

Outbound Shipping/FFL Transfer for firearms that you bring to us to ship to another FFL Dealer on your behalf. The FFL license of the destination dealer must be provided to us prior to shipment. The fee for outbound FFL Transfers is $30 PLUS the actual cost of shipping, insurance and packaging materials (will vary based on items size/weight/destination). Additional weapons that are part of the same shipment have a reduced $10 fee each. We will notify you with the total once the items it packed and weighed. Genetically modified organisms (GMOs) are the subject of wide ranging debates in the US and in other countries. In this experience, students will investigate genetic modifications on plants and examine common snack items for the presence of genetically modified corn or soybean.  Students will extract DNA from snack foods, use PCR to amplify target regions, and analyze their results with gel electrophoresis. Students will also explore the ethical challenges related to genetic modification. This experience includes lunch (at an additional $12.50/person). 

In this lab-based experience, students will examine the genetic roots of cancer, compare hereditary and non-hereditary cancers,and use the HNPCC kit to trace a cancer-related mutation through a family.  Students will use a family medical history to create a pedigree and select likely candidates for genetic testing. Using gel electrophoresis, students will identify family members carrying the cancer‐linked mutation. Throughout the day, students will discuss ethical challenges related to genetic testing. This experience includes lunch (at an additional $12.50/person) and either a talk from a HudsonAlpha scientist or a tour.

In this experience, students will take on the role of a cytogeneticist, examining patient samples for chromosomal anomalies. Students will learn how karyotypes are produced and work through one of 15 patients case studies, using HudsonAlpha’s Disorder Detectives kit. Along the way, HudsonAlpha instructors will lead students through discussion about the impact of chromosomal changes.*This experience does not meet the 4-hour minimum requirement to qualify for State funding available to Alabama Public School teachers.*
