Clay by the Sea is a free, hands-on pottery workshop inviting the public to create a small handbuilt clay tile inspired by County Wexford’s coastal heritage, natural textures and creative community.Hosted at Make & Mould Studio in Duncannon, the event will introduce participants to simple clay handbuilding techniques including rolling, imprinting, mark-making and surface decoration. Visitors will be encouraged to take inspiration from the Hook Peninsula, Duncannon beach, sea glass, shells, local architecture, lighthouse imagery, native plants, boats, waves and personal memories of the Wexford coastline.The workshop will be relaxed, welcoming and suitable for beginners. Participants will each create one small clay tile or hanging decoration using low-cost clay, recycled textures, stamps, natural materials and studio tools. The pieces can either be taken home as air-dry keepsakes on the night, or, if funding allows, fired and returned to participants at a later date.The event will also include a small “touch table” of pottery at different stages — raw clay, leather-hard clay, bisque-fired pottery, glaze samples and finished handmade pieces — giving visitors a behind-the-scenes look at the pottery process.This event supports Culture Night’s ethos by opening the studio free of charge, encouraging people to try something new, celebrating local heritage through clay, and creating a warm sense of community and belonging through shared making

Perfect class for first-timers (or those who've kind of forgotten how). If you’ve never touched clay before, this is the beginner's class for you.  $90 for two hours of instruction and creation of 2-3 pieces of your own work. Learn the basics of wheel-throwing, including centering, opening, pulling, and shaping a clay vessel, cut off and other introductory skills. We cover the entire wheel throwing process, from start to finish, plus, you get to create 2-3 pieces, all within a two-hour class session.Class includes all instruction, clay, wheels, bucket, personal-use tools and supplies and clean apron.All trimming, carving (to reduce excess clay mass), bisque and glaze firing functions will be performed by the studio team.While you choose your glaze colors; we do the cleanup of the work space – it's just that simple!You come in and pick-up your finished ceramics in the coming weeks...NOTE:  Actual glaze colors may vary slightly from any test tile. This is a painting party for a 16"x20" acrylic painting. All supplies provided. There are over 100 paintings to chose from. The host can arrange to bring drinks or food. Just let us know ahead of time so we can make room. The parties can have 3 to 20 if at our location. If you would like to have at your location please call and let us know and make arrangements.

This is for an acrylic painting 12"x12. All supplies provided. There are a wide verity of designs available for this size canvas. There are simple child themes and more complicated designs for those looking for a challenge. This is to book 3 or more painters.
