Over Verkeerstoren YpenburgHet voormalig Vliegveld Rijswijk-Ypenburg heeft nog maar twee gebouwen (eigenlijk drie) welke bewaard zijn gebleven. Het stationsgebouw met de vertrekhal (uit 1936 door architecten Johannes Brinkman & Van der Vlugt) , de naastgelegen directeurswoning, De Verkeerstoren welke als enige toegankelijk is voor publiek, bij deze rondleiding vertelt de Verkeersleider Jan Voorn over de spannende tijden tijdens zijn dienst periode in de 50 en 60 jaren. Huub Mizee weerman van TV west verteld over zijn periode bij de meteo dienst van vliegveld. Wetenschapper Robert Plat geeft een presentatie over de geschiedenis van Ypenburg. Deze rondleiding is elke tweede zaterdag van de maand!

About Ypenburg Control TowerThe former Rijswijk-Ypenburg Airfield has only two (or actually three) remaining preserved buildings. These include the station building with the departure hall (built in 1936 by architects Johannes Brinkman & Van der Vlugt), the adjacent director's residence, and the control tower, which is the only one open to the public.During this tour, Air Traffic Controller Jan Voorn will share thrilling stories about his service period in the 1950s and 1960s. Huub Mizee, a well-known meteorologist from TV West, will talk about his time at the airfield's meteorological service. Scientist Robert Plat will give a demonstration of the Sabre F86 jet fighter equipment.
