Sportmassage is een massagetechniek die gericht is op het stimuleren van de doorbloeding van de spieren. Met een sportmassage zorg je ervoor dat afvalstoffen in je spieren sneller worden afgevoerd. Daarmee bevorder je het herstel van je spieren en lichaam. Stijve spieren zorgen namelijk voor een verkeerde balans, waardoor er eerder blessures ontstaan. Probeer maar eens de kamer op en neer te lopen met een stijve knie. Je merkt dat jouw manier van bewegen dan dusdanig verandert, dat spieren, pezen en gewrichten elders in het lijf anders worden belast.Een sportmasseur herstelt de balans tussen links en rechts, waardoor er een beter evenwicht ontstaat en de belasting gelijkmatiger is.Een sportmassage van 30 minuten is voldoende om je kuiten en je hamstrings te masseren. Wil je de voor en achterzijde van je benen laten masseren, reserveer dan 45 minuten sportmassage.
