Genieten van een gratis Shiatsu-behandeling? Omdat ik in opleiding ben, zoek ik oefencliënten om ervaring op te doen. Een moment voor jezelf, een leermoment voor mij. Shiatsu wordt vaak 'acupunctuur zonder naalden' genoemd. In plaats van kneden of wrijven met olie, werk ik met een zachte, diepe druk van mijn duimen en handpalmen. Deze aanraking gaat voorbij de oppervlakte en helpt je lichaam om van binnenuit weer in balans te komen door drukpunten in je lichaam opnieuw te verbinden. Draag comfortabele losse en bedekkende kledij, die hou je tijdens een shiatsu sessie aan. Eventuele warme sokken kunnen voor extra comfort zorgen.

I understands that this is a sensitive subject and will ensure that you feel as comfortable as possible when discussing your symptoms, as this is vital information for directing your treatment.The physical assessment will begin with an examination of your abdominal muscles and pelvis, following this you are likely to be offered an internal examination. This is an important part of the assessment and is necessary to identify the tone, strength and control of your pelvic floor muscles, whilst checking for prolapse and scar tissue.Treatment options include:-correct teaching of pelvic floor exercises and individualised exercise programme prescription-advice on pelvic floor educators and muscle stimulations to improve your pelvic floor contraction-pilates based pelvic stability exercises to improve abdominal muscles strength-internal manual therapy techniques to relax the pelvic floor including trigger point release and scar massage-advice on bladder retraining and fluid managementOnce your level of pelvic floor control is established a specific and individualised exercise programme is developed. Postnatal MOTUnfortunately I hear time and time again that Mum’s are dissatisfied with their postnatal “check up”, which to many has been little more than “What contraception are you using now?”.I appreciate that GP’s are already stretched beyond their means, but new Mum’s have enough to worry about; having unanswered questions about their physical health and what their bodies are capable of, does not help.Why do it:The Postnatal MOT is recommended for all Mum’s from 6 weeks postpartum.Most women, after having a baby, have weakness in either their abdominals or pelvic floor, which creates decreased core strength and instability. This can lead to back and pelvic pain, as well as bladder and bowel weakness. A full assessment and rehab programme will help the pelvic floor and abdominals to recover, regain strength and reduce the risk of long term problems.Postnatal MOTThe 60 minute ultimate postnatal MOT is what I would recommend for every woman post birth, it tests the muscles of your pelvic floor and abdomen, as well as any physical problems arising from birth, and provides a safe optimal postnatal recovery plan design specifically for you.
