We have designed a golf fitness class to prepare you for the course. The class has been designed to improve your strength, mobility, balance and the key component of the golf swing, speed. Our physio, Eoghan, is certified by Titleist Performance Institute for the preparation of golf athletes. The class is flexible and can be tailored to you. So, whether you’re chasing 300 yard drives or trying to prepare your body for the demands of golf as a newcomer to the game, this class is for you.The class is circuit based and everyone will work hard for an hour per week to improve their game and their health.

This small group session is designed in alignment with the World Health Organisation’s (WHO) physical activity guidelines, ensuring that each workout supports your overall health and wellbeing under expert physiotherapy guidance.The WHO recommends that adults engage in at least 150-300 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic activity or 75-150 minutes of vigorous-intensity aerobic activity each week. Additionally, muscle-strengthening activities involving major muscle groups should be done on two or more days a week. Our class is structured to help you meet these targets safely and effectively.Our physiotherapy team develops an 8-week periodised plan, carefully designed to help you progressively build strength and endurance while minimising the risk of injury. Each session combines cardiovascular exercises on machines, such as bikes or rowing machines, with functional movement patterns performed against external resistance using bodyweight, dumbbells or kettlebells. These exercises are designed to improve cardiovascular fitness, muscle strength, and functional movement.This class perfectly complements our strength training and Pilates classes, offering a well-rounded approach to your fitness routine. Together, they provide a comprehensive programme that enhances heart health, builds muscle strength, improves flexibility, and supports overall physical wellbeing.Join us to boost circulation, enhance your cardiovascular fitness, and achieve your fitness goals in a supportive, small-group environment tailored to your needs.

Pilates consists of a series of exercises which aims to strengthen the body, in particular the spine. Pilates has many benefits, some of which include:Improved posture.Pain relief – due to improved movement patterns and increased muscle strength and endurance.Long term role in the prevention of recurrent spinal problems.Improved breathing patterns, which ensure a reduction in muscle tension and therefore pain.Improved body awareness.Improved athletic performance – corrects muscle imbalances of specific sports and the associated overuse injuries.In the clinic, we offer group Mat classes and individual Reformer sessions. Each individual has a “Pre-Pilates screen” which is carried out by one of the chartered physiotherapists, before you start a group class. This screening will ensure that you get the most out of your Pilates, as it will identify your areas of weakness and any abnormal movement patterns which could lead to pain and muscle weakness.The physiotherapist will then correct you throughout the class in a more constructive and specific way. All of our classes have a clinical rehab emphasis – strong technique and correct movement patterns are essential. We include exercises that are beneficial for balance and co-ordination and strength, which would not be traditional Pilates exercises. These have a very important role in bone health, improvement of athletic performance and prevention of falls. It takes approximately 16 weeks to strengthen your postural/spinal system.
