L’Abhyanga est l’une des plus anciennes techniques de massage de la médecine ayurvédique. Elle est appliquée en grande quantité afin de créer une enveloppe tiède sur le corps, favorisant ainsi la relaxation et l’exécution des gestes de massage.Le massage Abhyanga possède des effets relaxants et énergisants en stimulant le système lymphatique et la circulation sanguine; ainsi que de véritables bienfaits sur le plan psychique et émotionnel. Le Lomi Lomi  est un massage hawaïen. Le mot hawaïen « lomi » signifie « malaxer » et/ou « presser ». Il porte aussi le nom de « massage des mains aimantes » : basé sur les sept principes de la Huna, la philosophie hawaïenne prônant la recherche l’amour et de l’harmonie. A l’origine, c’était une pratique prodiguée par les Kahuna (guérisseurs traditionnels) très représentative de la philosophie polynésienne : un massage ayant pour but d’équilibrer le corps et l’esprit, l’intérieur et l’extérieur, le physique et le mental. Il permet au Mana (l’énergie qui traverse le corps) de mieux circuler afin de retrouver une unité corporelle et spirituelle. Ce massage traditionnel est pratiqué à l’huile chaude afin de faciliter l’exécution des gestes.
