Test Details: Combined Nose & Throat Swab  - SARS CoV 2 (COVID19) RNA RT-PCR Laboratory Test Conducted at a leading London Teaching Hospital under the supervision of a consultant virologist.  Tests before 1500 will typically report by 1800 the next working day however you must allow two full days in the event of a marginal result requiring resequencing. Private Covid Testing (tm) is a service by Location Medical Services Ltd - Registered by the Care Quality Commision in England. PCR Swab Test Kit - Self Swab under supervision of our clinical team.

Rapid resting (Results within a couple of hours of the test) for the SARS COV 2 Antigen. We suggest a PCR test to verify any positive result as the Lateral Flow Tests have a small but significant false positive rate of around  0.6%.  Whilst we use the test which has proven to be the most sensitive in the NHS trail - as selected by PHE, sensitivity is still below that of PCR and may fail to detect early incubation of SARS COV 2 / Covid-19. As such it is recommended that regular testing should be adopted to balance the reduced sensitivity. In most cases we would suggest 2 tests 3 days apart to ensure a person is not contagious.
