The same process as CLASSIC extensions, except a lighter (in weight) and thinner (in diameter) lash is used and is combined with 1-6 other synthetic lashes to create a fan, which is then applied to an individual lash. This creates a voluminous look that is often described as "fluffy." Lash extension friendly mascara cannot be worn on volume lashes because it will cause the fans to close.
