We will measure and calculate the gestation of the baby and check development in in line with gestational age.  This is also the best time to check for a twin pregnancy. In some instances we may need to do a trans vaginal scan to complete the examination, we will explain the exam and ask your consent before proceeding.We advise you to contact us before booking if  you are unsure of your dates. We will not be offering a rescan if you are less than eight weeks and we can confirm an intra-uterine pregnancy. If we have any concerns we will refer you to our Early Pregnancy Unit.We advise a frequency of at least two weeks between scans after 12 weeks, to enable us to do updated growth  measurements in line with ultrasound guidance.What you will receive at your scan: Presentation folder, x5 printed thermal  images,Printed diagnostic report Please note all scans are in 2D.All scans are authorised by the sonographers on the team ,before you get your booking confirmation, this means it will not be immediate and may be delayed. We use UHS applications so all your records are together and we will able to see if all was well at your 12 week scan and confirm your EDD. Please note this is our expert opinion and not guaranteed. You will also see your developing baby and we will do appropriate growth measurements for your gestation to ensure baby is healthy.We are also happy to provide a reassurance scan only , if you would like to keep the baby's gender a secret. Please bring a card if you would like us document our opinion of the  baby's gender down for you. Please note this is a diagnostic scan with our expert opinion on the baby’s gender only. We will not be offering any rescans for gender disputes or if baby’s pictures are of suboptimal quality due to factors out of our control i.e. position. Wearing a two piece outfit on the day will give us easy access to your tummy to enable us to scan your baby.We suggest that you have a moderately full bladder prior to your scan to optimise the images. 24  weeks gestation to termCalculated  from your  NHS EDD You will see your growing baby and see  baby's heartbeat we will do appropriate growth measurements for your gestation to ensure baby is healthy as well as a doppler of the umbilical cord to check the placental function. We are happy to do a complimentary check of baby's gender for you, please note this is not the main purpose of the scan. We use UHS applications so all your records are together and we will able to see if all was well at your 12 week and 20 week scan and confirm your EDD. Please note we do not give second opinions on anomalies found at your 20 week scan, but happy to check baby's growth for you. You may be asked to have a snack or go for a walk if baby is in an unfavourable position for accurate measurements. Please note this is a diagnostic scan with a complimentary ,expert opinion on the baby’s gender . We will not be offering any rescans for gender disputes or if baby’s pictures are of suboptimal quality due to factors out of our control i.e. position. Wearing a two piece outfit on the day will give us easy access to your tummy to enable us to scan your baby.We suggest that you have a moderately full bladder prior to your scan to optimise the images.
