It is vital (for custom made clothing especially) that you do a fitting to ascertain if any nips or tucks are needed before your official debut.The body can be tricky at times and any weight loss or gain that occurs after taking your measurements will impact the final fit of the clothing. 

This is just in case the first fitting required extensive alterations, particularly in the case of fluctuating weight.
