Lesson Duration NoticeStandard private lessons are 45 minutes. For students booking a longer learning plan (40+ private lessons), the first 10 lessons, each lesson is scheduled as 60 minutes, with an additional 15 minutes included for guided horse preparation and safety routines. This extra time helps students build confidence and learn correct handling skills from the very beginning.Horse PreparationFor children under 7 years old, independent horse preparation is not expected or required. At this stage, lessons focus on gentle interaction such as grooming, learning safety awareness and becoming comfortable around the horse. Regardless of lesson frequency, young children are not required to prepare the horse on their own. As students gain experience, they will gradually learn how to prepare the horse safely and correctly, including grooming, tacking up, and basic handling.Parent AssistanceParents or caregivers are welcome to assist during the horse preparation time. As students progress, families may choose to assist their child with preparing one of our school horses (Charlie or Dora),helping them develop independence step by step.School HorsesCharlie and Dora are calm and reliable school horses, well suited for young riders and beginners.
