CITB SSSTS (Site Supervisors Safety Training Scheme) 2 Day CourseOverviewThis two day SSSTS training course is intended for those who have, or are about to acquire, supervisory responsibilities. Through completing the course supervisors will be provided with an ability to understand health, safety, welfare and environmental issues, as well as their legal responsibilities relevant to their work activities. It will highlight the requirement to promote health and safety to supervise effectively. The SSSTS course is endorsed by the United Kingdom Contractors Group as the standard training for all supervisors working on BuildUK sites.Delegates under the age of 18 must provide written consent from a parent or guardian to successfully attend.·       PLEASE NOTE - It will take approximately 6-8 weeks for the CITB to issue certification  * Course ObjectivesOn successful completion of the SSSTS training course delegates that are given supervisory responsibilities will understand:why they are carrying out their identified dutieswhat is expected of themensure they contribute to the safety of the workplace Course AgendaThe SSSTS training course will cover the following:Health & Safety at Work ActThe Role of the SupervisorBehavioural Safety in the WorkplacePPESite Inductions & Toolbox TalksRisk assessments and the need for method statementsMonitor site activities effectively AssessmentAt the end of the CITB SSSTS course delegates are required to sit an exam paper consisting of 25 questions, of which 4 are safety critical and require a short written answer.  Multiple choice questions are worth 1 point each and safety critical questions are worth 1-3 points each.   In order to pass the course delegates MUST answer ALL of safety critical questions correctly.  The SSSTS Course pass rate is 80% (24 out of 30)Delegates who successfully complete the projects and assessment are awarded the CITB SSSTS - Site Supervision Safety Training Scheme certificate which is valid for 5 years. Who Should Attend?This course is aimed at first line managers, foreman, gangers, team leaders, supervisors and those who have, or are about to acquire supervisory responsibilities. Pre RequisitesA good understanding of spoken and written English will be necessary in order to attend and complete the course successfully.

Delegates must have passed the full SSSTS course within five years of their refresher course start date to be eligible.A good understanding of spoken and written English will be necessary in order to attend and complete the course successfully.

CITB SMSTS (Site Managers Safety Training Scheme) 5 Day Course - Day Release OverviewThis 5 day SMSTS Training course is designed for site managers, site agents and persons who are, or due to be, responsible for planning, organising, monitoring, controlling and administering groups of staff and a workforce. In order to obtain the qualification delegates MUST attend all days of their chosen course.The SMSTS certificate is valid for 5 years, after which time candidates must sit the SMSTS Refresher course in order to renew their SMSTS certificationThe SMSTS course covers all relevant legislation and other aspects which affect safe working in the building, construction and civil engineering industries. In order to remain qualified certificate holders are required to sit the SMSTS two day refresher course to renew their qualification for a further five years. Who Should Attend?This 5 day course is intended for project managers, site managers and site supervisors as well as proprietors of small to medium sized companies. Client-based personnel would also benefit from attending the course. Pre RequisitesA good understanding of spoken and written English will be necessary in order to attend and complete the course successfully.
