This one-off workshop has been designed to provide evidence-based information and strategies for families starting to introduce solids to their baby. Parents will have an opportunity to gain and share knowledge with other parents about how their baby grows and develops. This free workshop is designed for parents of babies aged 4-9 months - anyone who is interested can attend. It is being run jointly by speech pathologists from the Child Development Service and dietitians from ACT Heath. Information covered will include: readiness signs for solids, seating and positioning for meals, first foods, moving on from smooth purees, introducing finger foods, creating positive mealtimes and cup drinking. We also provide handouts explaining the strategies discussed in the workshop and how to use the strategies with your child.
