Mush your own dog sled through Lapland’s wilderness and unwind with a traditional Swedish fika.
Before setting off, you will meet our enthusiastic Alaskan Huskies and experience the excitement as the kennel comes alive in anticipation of the adventure ahead. Guests are welcome to assist with harnessing the dogs before departure, although participation is entirely voluntary.
After being dressed in warm winter clothing and receiving a thorough safety briefing, you and your partner will share a sled and take turns driving. Feel the excitement as your team eagerly pulls away from the kennel and into the vast landscapes surrounding Kiruna. We groom our own trails, which means away from snowmobile traffic and crowded tourist routes, you can enjoy the true silence, the incredible power of the dogs, and the feeling of the untouched Arctic wilderness.
The tour covers approximately 10–15 km, depending on weather and snow conditions.
After returning to the kennel, guests are welcome to help unharness and care for the dogs before we gather around the fire for a traditional Swedish fika. Much more than just a coffee break, fika is a central part of Swedish culture—a cozy moment to unwind, warm up, and share stories while enjoying hot drinks and freshly prepared sweet treats. During this time, you will have plenty of opportunities to learn more about our working sled dogs, life in the far north, and what it takes to train a team of huskies.
The complete experience lasts approximately 2.5 hours, including transfers, warm clothing, introduction, dog handling, safety briefing, the sled tour, and fika. From the adrenaline of the trail to the warmth of the fire, this tour offers a perfect, compact glimpse into the everyday life of an Arctic sled dog kennel.
