About Our 2.0 EcoBlue Wetbelt Replacement
The Ford 2.0 Diesel EcoBlue engine runs a wetbelt system—basically a timing belt that runs inside the engine, in oil. These were originally advertised by Ford as lasting 10 years or 150,000 miles, but in the real world, they often fail earlier—mainly due to poor servicing, wrong oil, or just general wear. We recommend changing yours at 6 years or 60,000 miles to stay safe.At Wigan Wetbelts, we don’t mess about. We’ve got the proper tools, experience, and know-how to do these jobs properly. We carry out wetbelt replacements weekly and have it down to a fine art. What we replace as standard:
Cambelt & Tensioner Kit
Timing Belt Cover
Crankshaft Stretch Bolt
Front Crank Oil Seal
Oil Pump Drive Belt
Oil Change (with correct 2.0 EcoBlue oil & genuine filter)
Sump Sealant & a Brand New Sump Pan
We always remove the sump and clean out the strainer to remove any debris—no half jobs here. If your belt fails, it can trash your engine, so don’t leave it too late.
