By using a specially designed E3 Etching machine, low-grade electricity charges copper sulfate to etch the metal. We’ll learn image transfer techniques, how to prepare brass and copper for etching, and uses for future projects. Participants will leave with finished etched pieces. *This class is perfect for making metal for the cold connection class! Cost includes $20 for copper and etching supplies.

Want to step up your enameling game while playing mad scientist? Then this class is for you! You will be able to experiment with various surface techniques for enamel such as sugar/orange peel firing, matte finishing, over-firing, foils, metal powder, sgraffito, graphite, decals, paint, salt texture, crackle and separation enamels, glass threads/beads, and beyond. Required skills: the ability to enamel base coats (kiln and/or torch); cleaning, drilling, filing metal. Must have 2 students to run.

When you have a chemistry teacher leading this class, you hang on for the ride! Glass meets metal in this class where the sky is the limit with your creativity. With an enamel as your canvas, you can create color and texture with graphite, decals, fire scale, scratching, layering, and more.  We will play with heat, fire, and color to build interesting elements you can use in your jewelry! 

This workshop offers practical and creative training in jewelry making using resources such as leaves, metal, stone, and glass. Learn the skills needed and what works best to assemble and design jewelry pieces. You will learn about products, safety and how to creatively combine materials and forge a piece of jewelry, and much more! You will create a few pieces in class. Please bring with you small objects you would use: leaves, stones, glass, shells, etc.  10am - 2pm 2 days in a row.

Working on an Enamel project and need a little help finishing it up?  Bring your own enamel powder & supplies, or buy some at the studio. This is not a class but simply a time to create alongside Daniel and other Enamel enthusiasts!  You'll have access to all the tools, torch, kiln, textures, Daniels' knowledge, and sense of humor. Bring your supplies like copper and finishing/polishing tools.

Do you like jewelry with patterns or designs in them?  In this fun metal clay class, you can texture, stamp, mold, and shape the clay the way you want!  In this 3 hour workshop, you learn the basics of working with the Precious Metal Clay (PMC) while creating earrings, charms, or pendants.  We fire your pieces during class, and they come out fine silver jewelry!  It's like magic, or science if you prefer ;)  Join us for some silver alchemy, price includes silver clay.

Uniting three separate bangles into one fun piece of jewelry is the infinity bangle class's hallmark.  Learn how to hammer, texture, and solder metal wire to create an unending link with your uniquely designed bracelet.  You also have the option to stamp a special message or name inside one of the bangles.  No previous experience necessary. 

Handcraft a sterling silver money clip in this 3-hour class. You'll create a unique, one of a kind piece! We'll take a thick sterling silver sheet, texture it, heat it and bend it to keep your money secure. Class includes silver and copper. Take a SPIN with us and learn what is involved in making a Spinner Ring; including measuring, sizing, and fabricating. These rings are comfortable, full of motion and very fun to wear. No experience necessary!

In this workshop, you will learn to work with various tools to create beautiful sterling silver stacking bands. You will learn to properly size, solder, and shape three rings in the desired wire gauge, then create a bezel setting to place on one of them. This class is a fun date or girl's day out! Grab a friend and register together!

Unlock the sparkle in the stone with this introduction to faceting! You will create a rose cut stone (faceted cabochon) that can be set into jewelry later.  We will cover how to properly use the stone faceting machine, read a faceting diagram, common gemstone problems you might come across, and evaluating rough stones. Previous lapidary experience is necessary.  Materials for one stone are included in tuition.

Tired of your cuff or bracelet falling off or not staying put? Make a silver Tension Cuff! With an interchangeable bezel set stone, this piece sits nicely from the tension of the silver bracelet. Bring your own large flat bottom cabochon or choose from our beautiful selection of stones.  *Previous soldering experience required.

Take your PMC skills to the next level! You will learn how to set and fire CZ's, shape or dome a piece, how to make connections, build a bail, layer textures, use bezel cups, or make hollow form beads.  We will help you design and create a unique piece of jewelry that will quickly become your favorite!  Materials charged at the end of class-based on clay used.

Cloisonné (pronounced kloi-zuh-ney) is the ancient art of enamel working in which designs are made of colored areas that are separated by thin flattened silver or gold wire soldered on edge. This class will start with the basics of wet pack enameling from the domed/fluxed blank through bending and placement of the silver wires and how to fill the cells with luscious, vibrant colors. Proper technique and shortcuts Glen has learned will all be explained.  Class is held in Salt Lake City, come join us!

Glass meets metal in this creative spin on an ancient technique where you will create colorful components for your jewelry. This simple technique can yield eye-popping results that can take your design one step further. In the class, we will be using powdered enamel on formed and/or textured copper pieces fired in the kiln to create innovative and unique pieces. You will get hands-on experience to create, experiment, and play.  

Is kiln enameling too predictable for you? Do you want to watch and control the firing process—or do you just like playing with fire? Then this chemistry-loaded class is for you. Like traditional kiln enameling, we will fuse powdered glass to metal to add unique color and texture to your copper pieces. Using the torch, you will have control over the firing process yielding unpredictable results that will add a creative spin to your jewelry.

Learn how to capture your drawings with this versatile enamel technique. In this class, you will design a pendant and/or pair of earrings that you will be able to draw on and make your own. No prior experience is necessary! You will learn how to punch and file copper, how to add basic layers of enamel via torch firing, how to prepare the enamel for drawing, and how to torch fire your drawn piece.

Art camp!  Kids can make non-toxic, quick, fun jewelry with concrete.  We provide all the supplies, and you provide the kid and their creativity.  Concrete can be embellished with seed beads, glitter, inks, and paint and then made into a necklace or earrings.  Minimum age 8 years old and we need 2 kids to run the class.

Argentium is a high karat sterling silver alloy that has many advantages.

Want to create a ring, pendant, or small sculpture with more detail? Casting is a technique over four thousand years old, and it hasn't changed much over the centuries. In this hands-on class, you learn to create and carve designs out of wax and cast them into sterling silver or bronze. The pieces are then filed, polished, and ready to show off. Projects are weighed after casting; students are responsible for the cost of the metal they use. Average silver pieces cost $10 - $25.

Rivets and wire and jump-rings! OH MY! Cold Connections are techniques used to connect metal without soldering. Planes, boats, and steel buildings all use rivets because they are strong (and, we think, pretty cool!) We cover layering, wire & tube rivets, texturing, jump rings, and ear wires. Take these skills and let your imagination fly! This is a great class to pair with etching or enameling and is easy to do at home. 2-day organic/found object casting workshop. Students bring in a variety of found objects that interest them and then learn the basics of casting which includes preparing the object to cast, burnout in the kilns, “slinging” molten metal and finishing a piece.

Choose between sterling silver, Argentium, or bronze casting grain. Casting grain is not included in tuition. This cost is determined by weight after the piece(s) have been cast. Paid at end of class Sunday.

This series is perfect for those wanting to add more 3-Dimensional design elements to their work or those who wish to engage in simple production. Students will leave this class with a comprehensive understanding of the basics of lost-wax casting and finishing. Casting grain is not included in tuition. Students may use sterling silver scrap with NO SOLDER if preferred.

Introduce gold to your work! Spend three days working with master goldsmith Steve Kreichbaum to build a ring in yellow or white gold, then flush set stones and create a heavy-walled bezel setting.

Learn about the properties of gold and its variety of alloys. Discuss the differences from working with silver in regards to soldering, annealing and fabricating. Students must provide gold. Suggested supply list will be provided.

Spend 4 Days in the studio advancing and honing your jewelry skills by creating amazing Hollow Form pieces. In this *Intermediate Class, you'll reinforce your fabrication and soldering techniques while constructing your unique Hollow Form Jewelry. This class will also cover texturing, surface treatments and finishing. *Previous soldering experience recommended. 

Working on a PMC project and need a little help finishing it up?  Bring your own metal clay or buy some at the studio. This is not a class - but our metal clay instructor will be here to answer questions and help you fire your projects. You will have access to all of our tools, textures, and torch or kiln for firing. Book up to 3 hours at a time.

Are you excited to put your new skills into action?  Studio rental time is available for those that have taken jewelry classes before and CAN WORK INDEPENDENTLY.  During assisted time, you can ask questions, but this is not a class, and the studio assistant is not there to teach you how to use the tools or new techniques.  You must bring your silver, stones and the consumables you will need.  *If you need more help, you can schedule a private class.
