You’re almost at the finish line of this long journey. Now is time for one of the biggest hurdles to successfully transitioning to the United States, your interview with the State Department. In these sessions we will prepare you for what, understandably, will be a tense and stressful situation. Using a wide selection of various questions, you will gain an understanding of what to expect during the interview process and what they’ll expect from you. Sessions will progressively increase in intensity to have YOU ready to pass.

These sessions are tailored to help you prepare for your prospective employment interviews. These can be prior to or after your arrival to the United States. Essentially it will range from roughly 5 individual sessions that will gradually increase in difficulty and intensity. The aim is to, by the last, session to conduct a serious mock interview. During the process examples will be given as well as tips, suggestions and critiques in order to better enhance your prospects of successfully gaining employment. Also, explanations as to the nature of the questions will be discussed to provide insight into what employers are looking for with interviewees.

Perhaps you’ve already passed the two big hurdles and are just waiting to emigrate to the US. Or, you’ve already arrived and are still a little confused about life in the US. Well, this is the class for you. In this class we will cover a wide range of topics covering everyday life in the US. Being in new a environment is hectic and stressful and these sessions should alleviate that. What better way to get insight into American culture than someone who is well-versed in it?

The Research Foundation, CUNY offers training sessions for the web-based e-PAF and Time & Leave systems from January through November. Grants Officers, Principal Investigators, Timekeepers, and Administrative Assistants are encouraged to enroll.
