This class will be a private lesson.
In this class tailored for babies from 6 months to 2 years old, and will be a private lesson the child, parent and myself. I engage closely with the children and their caregivers—whether they are parents, aunts, uncles, or grandparents. As we navigate the sessions together, I share effective techniques that caregivers can practice at home to reinforce the skills learned in class. This not only enhances the overall learning experience but also solidifies the foundational water adjustment skills essential at this early stage.
I adopt a personalized approach from the very beginning, carefully adjusting activities to suit the individual readiness and comfort levels of each child. I am keenly aware that each child progresses at their own pace, and it’s crucial for caregivers to understand that it is perfectly normal for some children to express discomfort or even cry during the sessions. Consistency is key here; through persistent and gentle encouragement, children gradually become more comfortable and confident in the water.
For children over two years who show signs of separation anxiety, I often recommend continuing their participation in this class. The supportive environment helps ease the transition, building trust and preparing them gradually for swimming without their caregiver in the water. This step is essential as it fosters independence while ensuring the child feels secure and supported.
In every class, my commitment is to provide a nurturing and secure environment where young swimmers can thrive at their own pace. As they grow and gain confidence, they graduate to private sessions in the Graduate Swimmers Class. Here, I focus on refining advanced swimming skills, building stamina, and perfecting breathing techniques in the water. These private sessions are crucial for developing each child’s individual abilities in a focused setting.
