Our Academic Counseling service provides personalized guidance to help students navigate their educational journey. From selecting the right courses to advising on career paths, our experienced counselors offer expert insight and support. We empower students to make informed decisions, set achievable goals, and overcome academic challenges. With our one-on-one sessions, we strive to enhance their academic performance and ensure their success.

The SK program familiarizes these young students with community helpers, our local Fire, Police and EMS professionals. The focus of the program is on teaching safety on the playground and while riding a bicycle, as well as fire, railway, home and community safety. Traffic and road safety is taught by a Police Officer through "Elmer's Seven Traffic Safety Rules" and highlights include a puppet show and visit by Elmer himself. At the conclusion of this engaging class the children head outdoors for a guided tour of the Village where they are encouraged to apply the lessons they learned in the classroom.

Participants of the grade 1 class are greeted by Sparky the Fire Dog who escorts the students to the fire classroom. In this interactive room that replicates a real home, students talk to a firefighter to learn how to avoid and stay staff during a fire. This program includes planning a fire escape route, illustrates the importance of having and checking smoke alarms and the guidelines to follow should they come face to face with a real fire.

Our most popular program at the Village is our grade 2 safety program that offers students a fun and educational day culminating in a chance to cruise the outdoor Village in one of our pint-sized jeeps. The program is taught by a police officer who challenges the students to learn and then identify safety rules and safe practices in the home and in their community. The interactive classroom learning is followed by a safety walk through the Village, and the jeep ride.

The Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Course is a specialized training program designed to equip healthcare professionals with the necessary skills to respond effectively in emergency situations. The course is administered by certified instructors and follows the guidelines set forth by the American Heart Association (AHA).

During the BLS Provider Course, participants learn essential life-saving techniques and protocols for providing basic emergency care to individuals experiencing cardiac arrest, respiratory distress, or other medical emergencies. The course covers topics such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), automated external defibrillator (AED) usage, and basic airway management.

Participants receive hands-on training and practice on manikins to simulate real-life scenarios, allowing them to develop proficiency in performing CPR techniques

Upon successful completion of the BLS Provider Course, participants will receive a AHA BLS certification card that is valid for  two years. This certification demonstrates their competence in providing basic life support and may be required for employment in healthcare settings or as a prerequisite for advanced life support training.

Overall, the BLS Provider Course plays a crucial role in ensuring that healthcare professionals are equipped with the necessary skills to respond promptly and effectively in emergency situations, potentially saving lives and improving patient outcomes.

The BLS Renewal Course is a refresher training program designed for healthcare professionals who have previously completed the Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Course and need to renew their certification. This course allows participants to update their knowledge and skills in basic life support techniques, ensuring that they remain competent and up-to-date with the latest guidelines and protocols set forth by organizations like the American Heart Association (AHA). The BLS Renewal Course covers essential topics such as CPR, AED usage, and basic airway management, providing participants with a review of key concepts and an opportunity to practice and demonstrate their skills. Upon successful completion of the BLS Renewal Course, participants receive a renewed certification, extending their qualification for another two years. This renewal process helps healthcare professionals maintain their competence in emergency response and ensures that they are prepared to provide effective basic life support when needed.

HeartCode BLS, offered by AHA, is a blended course requiring separate payment for the online portion. Students complete a portion online prior to attending a skill session. Upon completion, students receive a two-year AHA certification, making it ideal for healthcare students and providers seeking valid certification.

This class is for students that already completed (or plan to complete) the AHA HeartCode BLS online course and need to verify their hands-on skills. In order to receive certification. students must provide successful completion of the online portion before they can attend the Skills Session.
