In general, school education is 13 years and divided into:

Primary school – runs for 7 or 8 years, starting at kindergarten/preparatory (early childhood education) through to Year 6 or 7.

Secondary school – runs for 3 or 4 years, from Years 7 to 10 or 8 to 10.

Senior secondary school – runs for 2 years, Years 11 and 12.

Early childhood education such as kindergarten/preparatory is intended to provide care and supervision of children, to prepare children for school, and to ensure that children are able to effectively participate in subsequent learning opportunities. Early childhood education is usually conducted in association with community programs, pre-schools and other child-care settings.

In Australia, it is compulsory for children to attend primary and secondary school education between the ages of 6 and 16 (Year 1 to Year 9 or 10). We combine both general and specific on the job training via our online learning system, covering topics such as how to write your CV, how to individually look for a job in Australia and the relevant resources available, general etiquette both within an interview and workplace setting, how to prepare for your job interview, and several other informative topics.

As part of your program, we also will assist you with finding a suitable role in hospitality working for a hotel/resort within Australia.  This includes an initial consultation and interview, the preparation and writing of your resume, organizing of interviews with potential hotel/resort employers throughout Australia, and providing job specific training for each individual interview, tailored to both the position and employer.

Furthermore, once you have received a potential job offer from one of our hotel/resort clients we will direct and organise everything with you to ensure a smooth transition to your new role via our job brief and consultation.

ENGLISH REQUIREMENT: Intermediate Level and above (this will be ascertained during our quick initial 5-minute conversation-based interview with you prior to your enrolment in the program)

General English will help you develop the English language skills for everyday use, like speaking, listening, reading, writing, vocabulary, idioms, grammar, pronunciation and fluency. You’ll progress through the levels based on academic achievement which will be constantly monitored.

SMART English Melbourne strongly encourages you to review the key language taught in class and ask teachers for help at any time. Our General English course does not have a minimum language entry requirement. In fact, we welcome everyone to make the best of their time throughout this incredible journey.
