Integrative cancer support group (4 sessions)
This is a repeating group online group with a maximum of 15 participants designed to provide structured support for cancer patients.
Bookings are for 4 sessions at a time, at the same time each week. (Please note that the price indicated is the total cost of these four sessions, and is non refundable.) Session duration will vary as a function of the number of participants, between 1-1.5 hrs.
The participation format includes structured discussion, questions drawing on the group's wisdom, and material designed to help with the following issues which frequently come up for those dealing with cancer;
- how to activate social support
- finding strength and meaning
- participating in your own health and treatment (including diet, supplements, accessing your own intuition, exercise, other treatment modalities such as herbal medicine)
- dealing with the emotions that cancer brings (including learning to use techniques from acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and EMDR to handle strong emotions
The group material is based on the work of Dr Kelly 'Radical Remission' and OC Simonton 'Getting Well Again', and includes learning to use your mind to deal with pain, stress, to boost your immune system, and find ways to access your own internal healing ressources.
Please note that this group is not promoting completely abandoning conventional medical treatment, nor being passive in the face of serious illness, nor blaming the individual, their lifestyle, family or their circumstances for their illness.
