This program is designed by clinical therapist, Toshia Shaw, LCSW, who has developed the Somatic Sound therapy approach of sound healing. This method is based on mindfulness, the neuroscience of sound, mind-body awareness, and deep listening. This program is designed to give an understanding of the principles of healing with sound and to educate on how to apply therapeutic sound interventions. You will learn how to facilitate sound meditation groups and sound healing sessions for individuals.This program includes 3 levels for 20 hours and apprenticeship hours for a total of 40 hours. When you complete the program you will receive a certificate as a Sound Practitioner of the Flowing Lotus Center. This program is available in-person and virtual on Zoom. It is preferable to do classes in person if you can. Classes are Friday through Sunday. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------GOAL Of SOUND HEALING?What you will be able to do once you complete the program:· Feel confident playing various sound healing instruments· Understand basic music harmony and how to shape a healing music experience· Facilitate a sound bath or sound meditation group· Provide trauma informed individual sound healing sessionsImportant Note: This training for sound healing is specifically to help the following areas:· Reduce physical and mental effects of stress and anxiety· Rehabilitate restorative rhythms in brain and body· Increase Mind Body connection and awareness of energetic body· To regulate the nervous system and emotional energy in the body· Improve inner listening and inward connection--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------You are responsible for attending all sessions to complete the training. This training is NOT meant to teach how to use sound to heal specific illnesses or to cure disease. No claims can be made by students who complete this program that they are certified to heal a person from sickness or mental illness with this training. This is not a training for in depth psychoanalysis of patients nor can the student upon completing this program claim to be a licensed therapist.This certificate program is focused on working with the autonomic nervous system as well as increasing mindfulness in clients. Students completing this program can work with individuals in the capacity of assisting the wellness and self care of the client.
