Are there any inclusion or exclusion criteria? You must be 18 years old above What will I be asked to do? If you elect to participate in this study, you will be required to provide confirmation of your willingness to partake, and your acknowledgment of the information presented in this document. As part of the study, you will engage in an AR immersive experience facilitated by the researcher who will provide you with an AR equipment, specifically the HoloLens 2, featuring an eye-tracking device from Pupil lab. Prior to commencing the experiment, a tutorial session will be conducted to familiarize you with the equipment. The official experiment will then commence, wherein you will interact with augmented objects for a period of 15 minutes. During the study, you will be requested to provide certain demographic data such as age, gender, and occupation, and respond to inquiries regarding your perception of self with respect to the AR immersive experience. Following the experiment, a series of post-experiment questions will be presented to you, which will relate to your perception and choice during the experiment. It is important to note that all questions posed are voluntary and you are encouraged to express your own feelings and sensations. There are no right or wrong answers as all responses will be considered significant. Once I take part, can I change my mind? After you have read this information and asked any questions you may have if you are happy to participate, we will ask you to complete an Informed Consent Form. However, if at any time, before, during or after the sessions you wish to withdraw from the study, please just contact the main investigator. You can withdraw at any time, for any reason and you will not be asked to explain your reasons for withdrawing. However, once the results of the study are aggregated (expected to be by middle of May), it may not be possible to withdraw your individual data from the research. Will I be asked to attend any sessions and where will these be? These experiments are located on the Loughborough University London campus, Room 0.15. How long will it take? This experiment will take you 5 minutes to complete, including 3 minutes to participant experiment and 2 minutes to fill out questionnaires. Are there any disadvantages or risks in participating? We do not anticipate any risk in taking part in this study. Participating in the research is not anticipated to cause you any disadvantages or discomfort. The potential physical and/or psychological harm or distress will be the same as any experienced in everyday life. You're free to leave your comments (as feedback) in the last question should you wish to. Is there anything I need to do before the sessions? This could be completing background questionnaires, food diaries or for participants to discuss the requirements with their family and/or GP. Is there anything I need to bring with me? No. What type of clothing should I wear? Anything that makes you comfortable to wear. Try to avoid wearing hats due to the headwear design of the experimental equipment (you can remove the hat before the experiment). What are the possible benefits of participating? Firstly, you will have the opportunity to engage in an AR immersive experience, which could provide you with a unique and enjoyable experience. You may also gain insights into how this technology works and its potential applications. Additionally, your participation may contribute to scientific research and the advancement of knowledge in the field of augmented reality. Your involvement could potentially lead to the development of new technologies, products, or services that may benefit society.
