Conducting research

This 20-minute meeting is set aside for FCS students in order to discuss all things course-related.

This time is set aside for students who are new to the FCS majors and want to apply, have already applied for the program, or have already declared the program as their major. An initial email will be sent to you prior to an appointment. During our meeting your graduation plan will be signed and questions will be answered about the major. If you are changing your major, please be sure to bring with you printed out 1) a copy of your DPR, 2) a copy of your unofficial transcript (both can be printed from the Student Center), and 3) a completed Change of Major form. See the SFSU Change of Major website for the correct form. The change of major time period for Spring term is between January 1-March 1 and for Fall is August 1-October 1. Per FINA policy ALL lower division GE courses must be completed to approve a change of major. If change of major forms are not completed and brought to the appointment, your appointment will be rescheduled. Please come prepared!

This time is set aside for current FINA FCS majors who have a graduation plan and simply want to assess whether they are on track or want to update or change their graduation plan. Please be sure to have access to your graduation plan electronically prior to the meeting. Please come prepared.

Schedule your appointment no more than 1-2 weeks before you will need your lab coat. Most people receive their lab coats during the fitting appointment. Please ensure you have acknowledged the LHAT and completed the required PPE training. Bring your:- Prescription glasses, if you wear them in the lab.- Extra lab coats your lab no longer needs. 

Appointment to test the fit of a N95 respirator. In preparation for the appointment user must:- Be medically cleared by University Health Services (except for voluntary use of N95).- Not have facial hair that may interfere with the seal of the mask.

30 minutes of cardio intervals that’ll make you wanna say, “Oh sHIIT!” This challenging session gets the heart rate up and endorphins flowing. Brace yourself for short bursts of intense bodyweight exercise with timed rest & recovery.

A 45-minute strength class that focuses on form and technique. You will train using your own body weight, bands, or dumbbells for resistance and your muscles will be challenged with sets of Time Under Tension (TUT).
