Do you have some questions about sex and/or relationships? Coaching might be the right option for you. Check out this short free appointment and decide! What is Sex Coaching?Sex Coaching is a goal oriented, education focused way of working on your sex life and/or sexual relationship. Together we identify the areas of your sex life that you would like to expand and provide you with the tools to do so. This includes face to face education sessions, referrals to books, toys, community organizations and sometimes, referrals to therapy. In this free session, we'll identify what you're looking for and provide with a path to getting there. If we're not the right match, we'll refer you to other coaches. Or, if what you're looking for is therapy, we'll refer you to that!In a regular coaching session, we sit down together and identify what you want to learn or work on. We then have a discussion targeted specifically to your needs. Frequently this includes: reviewing anatomy, sexual techniques, relationship techniques and communication skills. I'll provide resources, suggest books or toys and offer referrals to community organizations or other resources as appropriate. We then formulate an action plan to help you take your sex life where you want it to go. Like all education at Sugar, coaching is done through discussion, diagrams and anatomical models. There is no hands on component. In some cases, couples or individuals find that one session is all they need to - together we jump start your process. In other cases, folks find that they would prefer to return for additional sessions. In some cases, Sex Therapy is more appropriate or is used in conjunction with Coaching. What is Sex Therapy?Sex Therapy helps individuals or couples living with sexual dysfunctions become sexually functional. This involves addressing the psychological barriers to sexual health and well-being as well as providing sexual education. Sex therapy is provided by someone who is a board certified therapist and who has additional training in sex therapy. Therapists are qualified to diagnose and treat psychological issues and mental illnesses such as depression, bi-polar disorder, addictions and personality disorders. If this way of working with your wife sounds most appealing, I'd strongly suggest that you seek out a therapist that has certification from the American Association of Sex Educators, Counselors and Therapists.
