About Ypenburg Control TowerThe former Rijswijk-Ypenburg Airfield has only two (or actually three) remaining preserved buildings. These include the station building with the departure hall (built in 1936 by architects Johannes Brinkman & Van der Vlugt), the adjacent director's residence, and the control tower, which is the only one open to the public.During this tour, Air Traffic Controller Jan Voorn will share thrilling stories about his service period in the 1950s and 1960s. Huub Mizee, a well-known meteorologist from TV West, will talk about his time at the airfield's meteorological service.
