HeartSaver First Aid certification course is a video-based, instructor-led course that teaches students critical skills to respond to and manage an emergency in the first few minutes until emergency medical services arrives. Students learn duties and responsibilities of first aid rescuers; first aid actions for medical emergencies, including severe choking, heart attack, and stroke; and skills for handling injury and environmental emergencies, including external bleeding, broken bones and sprains, and bites and stings.Cost for course: $50

This is the AHA Basic Life Saver - CPR and AED certification course for health care providers.The American Heart Association’s Basic Life Saver (BLS) course trains participants to: Promptly recognize several life-threatening emergenciesGive high-quality chest compressionsDeliver appropriate ventilation (rescue breaths) Provide early use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)performing as an effective team member during multi-rescuer CPR resuscitationRelief foreign-body airway obstruction (choking) in adults and infantsCost for course: $50

CPR certification course for non-health care providers.  Heartsaver CPR and AED is a video-based, instructor-led course that teaches adult and child CPR and AED use, infant CPR, and how to relieve choking in adults, children, and infants. This course teaches skills with the AHA’s research-proven practice-while-watching technique, which allows instructors to observe the students, provide feedback, and guide the students’ learning of skills.Cost for course: $50

The tax clinic is open to all Ryerson students in partnership with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) and Certified General Accountants of Ontario (CGAO). A team of trained student volunteers will help prepare your tax return and file it to the CRA on your behalf. This is a free service provided to Ryerson Students, by the RSU.

Scholars in Training Education Center (SIT) was established in the summer of 2016 when the name and foundational principles of the program were nurtured by Keeyama Mumford. Spurred by a longtime desire to operate a philosophically innovative early childhood program, Keeyama pursued funding and space. Over time and after an extensive conversation with a close friend and Godmother to her children, Tierra Johnson decided to partner with Keeyama in making this dream a reality.
