If you are currently struggling to understand your dog's behaviour issue and feel at a loss as to how you can help your beloved family member, then Free Will Teaching can change the dynamics of your understanding and relationship! Perhaps you have already tried to help your dog with other behaviourists and you feel let down. I understand this feeling as I have previously struggled with conventional methods before I discovered Free Will Teaching! FWT is drastically different from training, in fact it offers no training methods whatsoever! I won't overwhelm you with training schedules, ratios or any repetitive tasks to practice because that isn't how this works. Instead I will explain your dog's behaviour so you will gain knowledge and understanding of your dog's perspective. Once this is understood we will then go into detail about what you can do to help your dog overcome their issues. I don't need to see your dog's behaviour and I do not promote putting dogs into situations they can't deal with to see how they react. Everything I teach comes from established psychology and the founder of FWT Kathie Gregory. I work from understanding the dog's mind and I can do this by asking  you the right questions and gathering as much information that is relevant. For more complex issues it may be helpful to see recorded footage, and if you do have any recordings then you can send these to me, but these are not essential. Working with me virtually means that I can support you along this exciting journey. Struggling with your dogs behaviour can be incredibly emotional, draining and exhausting. Often owners come to me after they have reached breaking point and in most cases I have been lucky enough to have been able to help them turn their lives around. Where conventional methods may have failed you and your dog, it may be time to try something different or learn FWT straight away before trying conventional methods. Using FWT means that we don't use conditioning, repetitive training tasks, luring or bribing with rewards, or any use of punishments. Instead we work on your relationship and understanding of each other. I teach you how to communicate with your dog using word association which we then develop into conversational language, we then work through all of your dog's needs and see how we can meet them. This is a way of life that will become more natural and much less stressful for everyone involved, including your dog. Because when your dog develops more self awareness and cognitive ability, they will then be able to make better decisions and have more clarity and self control in many situations. It is unlikely that we will need many sessions, as most owners using FWT can learn this pretty quickly, so I recommend having your consultation, and then a follow up session in a couple of weeks. A month after your follow up session we can review whether or not you feel you need further assistance.  The Consultation lasts 90 minutes and is over a video call. If you live overseas and have a drastic time difference, please contact me so that we can work out a suitable time for us both. After you have booked your appointment here, you will receive your invoice by email, once this has been settled your appointment will be confirmed. If payment has not been made within 48 hours, your appointment will be cancelled and your time slot will become available again. Once You have had your consultation, it is recommended that you have a follow up session 2-4 weeks after you start making the changes recommended to you within the consultation. Once you have had one follow up session, I recommend leaving 3-4 weeks before booking your second session if needed. This session will last up to 1 hour long. 

If you would prefer to raise your puppy in a more natural way, without all the stress and time commitment of on-going training then Free Will Teaching is perfect for you! It is how we live our life with our dogs. The guiding principle is to give dogs the free will to live the life they want to live. However, free will is not just leaving your dog to do what he wants, when he wants, that would result in chaos! Free will is achieved when we understand ourselves and the world around us properly, so we are able to behave, interact, and make decisions that are healthy and mindful to us and to those around us.Spoken language is our main way of communicating with our dog, backed up by our body language. Teaching spoken language gives us the ability to communicate, via conversations, the complexity of subjects that raise dogs to the potential of their species and themselves as an individual, and gives them the ability to understand more than can be conveyed with single words or hand signals. In turn, we must understand our dog’s spoken language and body language so they are an equal participant in the relationship. Outside the realm of conventional training methods, Free Will Teaching is not positive reinforcement training, it does not use lures, cues, hand signals, treats, or exercises repeated over and over. Truly kind and compassionate, Free Will Teaching is a new and refreshing way to teach your dog, improving your relationship and bond to nurture and guide you and your dog to a harmonious relationship based on love and trust that wasn’t considered possible a few decades ago. The Puppy Starter Programme consists ofThe Starter ConsultationThe consultation lasts between 60-90 minutes. This is where we get to know each other, learn about your puppy (or soon to be puppy!) We can start right from the beginning if you have not yet brought your puppy home. I can prepare you for welcoming your puppy into your home and family and take you step-by-step through FWT and prepare you for what is to come and how to handle everything in advance! If you already have your puppy then we can go through everything that is relevant to your puppy's life stages, your life and your routines.  Everything is tailored to you, your puppy and other dogs if you have a multi-dog household. The consultation includes (but is not limited to) Communication and body language, teaching word association, diet and nutrition, brain development, teaching natural impulse control, teaching choices, and going through all your questions.  The consultations lasts between 60-90 minutes. 2 follow up sessionsEach session lasts between 40-60 minutesI recommend booking your first follow up session 2-3 weeks after the consultation, and your second and last session is booked nearer to when your puppy is becoming a teenager at around 4 and half months old.
