I started Nutrition World in 1979 in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Having a life long passion for nutrition and health inspired me to grow Nutrition World into Chattanooga’s leading wellness complex.
I earned a degree in 2002 from the American Health Science University, which closed several years ago, specializing in holistic nutrition training. I also graduated in 1978 from MTSU with a criminal justice degree. I am a professional member of the American Botanical Council, a nonprofit organization that helps people live healthier lives through the responsible use of herbs and medicinal plants. I was elected a member of the American College of Nutrition in 2014. I am also an active member of the Vitamin D council. I have been a member of the Functional Medicine Group with Dr. Jeffrey Bland and attended seminars and trainings with them starting in 2001. I hold a certificate of completion from German New Medicine and am a current member of the Pastoral Medical Association.
Opportunities were never missed for me to have one on one time with many of the leading experts in the field of nutrition. Some of these were Jack Lalanne, Ewan Cameron, Dr. Ajemar, Dr. Sally Byrd, Bernard Jensen, Richard Passwater, Dr. Oz, Dr. Perlmutter, Dr. Tinney, Dr. Charles Adams, Dr. Terry Smith, Dr. Weil, Dr. Jeffrey Bland, and many others.
I co-authored the book Ways to Improve Your Health with leading experts in natural health such as Dr. Mercola, Dr. Sinatra, Dr. Whitaker, and others. I have authored over 1000 articles pertaining to nutrition and health over the years and many are posted on our blog. I also have written three e-books for consumers: Are You Sick and Tired of Being Sick and Tired, No More Restless Nights, and 100+ Ideal Protein Recipes.
I have guided Nutrition World over the many years to encompass a full complex that includes a yoga facility, acupuncture, massage, thermography, midwifery, chiropractic, Circle of Life Family Medicine, Ideal Protein Weight loss program, personal fitness training, licensed counseling professionals, Bemer machine, and will continue to expand as needed to serve Chattanooga’s health needs.
I am a licensed pilot, fitness devotee, nature lover, motorcycle rider, and continue to explore life to its fullest as I move into my sixth decade of life.
