Great Exp

Had a shooting analysis which really helped and the whole experience was great. My only disappointment was that if someone does an analysis and then buys a custom stick I wish there would have been a break on pricing for the analysis or something...!

Very pleased!

My son recently did a one-hour shooting analysis and stick fitting with Chris Nakamura from BASE. Chris was fantastic, giving my son lots of tips and tricks on how to improve his shot. A worthwhile investment

This is the 2nd base stick we purchased and the education we receive each time is unparalleled. The care and personalization the staff take to change, tweak and continually improve my son's custom hockey stick is incredible. They kept further refining the approach until the blade, curve, flex, length and a few other nuances were just right and specifically crafted to improve my son's game. We noticed the difference in his shot right away so when it comes purchasing, we feel this is a far better, more thoughtful purchase than simply going to a store and buying something off the rack.

Makes it Fun

Mitchell has been tremendous with our 11 year old son. My son looks forward to his sessions not only because he has been improving and seeing results during his games but because Mitchell makes learning fun. I appreciate that Mitchell will take extra time to ensure that his student has made progress and has had fun making it easy to bring him back to the next session.

Shooting Analysis Session

As someone that has been playing hockey for a long time I wish I had done this earlier. I had heard about it several years ago and finally decided it would be fun to see if the sticks I have been playing with are good for me. Good news is that my instinct on stick selection is pretty close to what I have been using for years, but even better was just getting a much better understanding of the differences and how the blades are shaped for different things. The biggest thing I got out of it though was learning the techniques to get maximum power out of my shot. The analysis and videos were probably the best part of this and seeing myself shooting in slow motion was really interesting and insightful to see. I highly recommend doing this!

Great Development, Even for Younger Players

Brought my son who is in 3rd year hockey to Mitchell for a 1-1 session to learn shooting skills, something he hadn't really learned much about during regular team development. Mitchell was awesome with him, showing him proper technique, form etc. He was encouraging, positive, but helped him by correcting him and showing him things back on iPad to let him see what to improve. I was a bit skeptical going in if this was worthwhile for young players, but it totally exceeded my expectations. He did 30 min (about perfect for the younger ones) and is looking forward to a couple follow up sessions to put these skills into practice!

Testing BASE stick options

I had the opportunity to work with Mitchell and try many different options of shafts and blades that are available through BASE. It was enjoyable and very worthwhile. Not only did I get a better idea of what worked well for me and what did not, but seeing myself on film gave me a better idea of things I can work on to improve my shooting. The time was well spent and Mitchell was helpful and patient in working with me so that I could benefit as much as possible given the questions I had. I'm glad I took the time to visit BASE and would recommend it to anyone who is considering it and has the opportunity to book a session.

Worth the journey!

Arrived late and was well accommodated anyway. My shot assessment for stick customization was thorough and addressed my concerns. My style of play and shot preferences were taken into account and I am confident my new stick will upgrade my game Thanks for your expertise and professionalism, Mitchell!

Loved it!

My son was able to shoot with various sticks until he found one that worked. The analysis and instruction was great, some good info on how to improve his shot. We were quite impressed with the level of knowledge and didn't feel pressured at all. Looking forward to the new stick!!
