Blackwood High School is a co-educational government secondary school located in the charming foothills of Adelaide. The school opened in 1961 and has served the local community for over 60 years, gaining a reputation for high academic standards and excellence underpinned by the school values of Care, Achieve and Respect. Our students study the Australian Curriculum across Year 7 to 10 and the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE) in Year 11 and 12.The school is renowned for the Girls Special Interest Netball program which was introduced in 1994 and is endorsed and supported by Netball South Australia (Netball SA). In recent years, we have introduced a successful Girls and Boys Specialist Interest Australian Rules (Football) program.We also offer a wide variety of co-curricula opportunities which enrich our students educational experience.We are very proud of our school and invite you to explore this website to learn more about Blackwood High School.

Parent Meeting with Stew Nancarrow.

Both me and my son were very pleased with the meeting we had yesterday with Stew Nancarrow. He was welcoming and made my son feel so much better about starting "big" school. He answered all our questions, and made my son feel totally at ease. Thank you.

Year 6 transition interview

Even though we have a child at blackwood already our year 6 hasn’t had many interactions with the school yet. it was a great opportunity for her to meet the school. She feels very comfortable reassured about starting high school next year. I really loved how the questions were to understand how she learns and her interests. Mr Nancarrow was very welcoming and friendly.

Year 6 to 7 Transition Meeting

This was a really valuable experience for myself and my son. It allowed for my son to ask questions about high school and put his mind at ease around his concerns. This was a fantastic way for Blackwood High staff to gain understanding of my son's personality, interests and learning style. Thank you Blackwood High for providing this opportunity.
