Open Yoga Live Classes with Deborah (Please see the class schedule in the Book Now section). Open Yoga classes explore the fundamental architecture of Yoga (Yin & Hatha). Finding our balance through the path of yoga is inclusive of both mind and body. Open Yoga classes share the practical side of asanas (postures) working with the science of our anatomy and physiology. Classes will include traditional aspects of a yoga practice such as meditation and philosophy. Classes are available in studio and online, connecting in person or live on Zoom from the comfort of your own home.When we begin to explore yoga, we actually start to explore ourselves. Through the practice of yoga we develop an ability to regain balance and equilibrium, by aligning our physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual/energetic well-being. Only through practice will we experience the effects of asana (postures) and pranayama (breath control) on the body, mind, and spirit.Why the body becomes supple and efficient through yoga can easily be understood over a few practiced classes. Why and how yoga affects the mind and spirit is not so immediately apparent, but the energy within you, feelings of wellbeing, calmness and a sense of clarity may be experienced after one class. With a regular yoga practice that includes breath awareness with body movement or stillness, the long-term effects support a mode of living aimed to maximise our lifespan by optimising our health throughout every stage of our lives. From breathing to digestion to joint health, from mental well-being to courage in openness, kindness and compassion.Yoga postures are ‘designed’ to direct energy to areas of our body so help with any physical weakness’ we may have. Two of the main reasons why it may be difficult for us to make certain ‘shapes’ with our bodies are tension or compression. Tension – Tension in the body exists in all different places, from breathing into our diaphragm to stiffness in the joints. Compression – Compression exists in the absence of tension, and it is our anatomical bone structure that prevents us from being able to make a certain shape with our body.The different styles of Yoga combined with breath awareness helps us to notice the subtle changes within our body and to stretch our mind and enhance our focus and concentration. Traditional Yoga is the key that unlocks our inner strength, we become more open, flexible, able and not just physically. Yoga provides a deeper route to nurture ourselves and help to create space in our lives.
