Rebekah has been animal-crazy since the time she could hold a pencil and draw all of the animals that lived in her imaginary farm, but dogs have always had a special place in her heart. She started training her Nintendogs from a young age, but at 15, her family got their very first dog, and Rebekah was finally able to teach fun tricks, build PVC agility equipment, and play frisbee with a dog. Rebekah now has three animals: Remi (Golden Retriever), Newton (Ragdoll Cat), and Murphy (Border Collie). Rebekah trains and competes in agility with both of her dogs, but also participates in disc, FastCat, and treibball. She and Remi also volunteer at Rainbow Animal Assisted therapy, where Rebekah teaches some of the therapy training classes. At Urban Pooch, she teaches agility, disc, treibball, and LEVELS classes. Rebekah loves helping clients achieve all of their training goals and develop their bond and relationship with their dog. She also enjoys being able to love on all of the cute puppers!

Ellie has been working at Urban Pooch for 5 years, and has been professionally handling dogs for many more. Their love for training dogs started at Urban Pooch. Ellie now has 2 years of training experience teaching a variety of group classes including all levels of obedience training and puppy classes. Ellie's favorite part of the job is that they get to learn and grow alongside their clients. Getting to see the journey each pet parent and dog go on is so rewarding.

Bobby Brown is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer-Knowledge Assessed (CPDT-KA) from Shreveport, Louisiana. Six years ago he made the commitment to learn all he could about our furry friends. He attended CATCH Canine Trainers Academy and became a CATCH Certified Dog Trainer. CATCH is a highly-recognized dog training school located in New Jersey. Flash forward and now Bobby is both a Certified Professional Dog Trainer-Knowledge Assessed (CPDT-KA) as well as an AKC Canine Good Citizen evaluator. However, his journey to learn more about canines hasn’t stopped and his next goal is to become a World Scent Dog Association instructor and eventually a Canine Fitness Trainer. Bobby looks forward to continuing his long and studious journey in the dog world.
Bobby specializes in teaching dogs basic obedience, tricks and solving common behavioral issues such as door dashing, leash pulling, destructive behavior and more. His interests include canine scent work, canine sports and fitness, service dogs and much more! He can’t wait to get to know you and your pooch!

Grace has been around dogs throughout her life. In many ways her life is centered around dogs. From training dogs, to relying on Medical Alert Service Dogs for daily tasks, to competing in National Agility competitions, dogs have been teammates, companions and life partners.
Grace’s home pack currently consists of four dogs each with their own special skills and gifts. She trains and competes in agility with her two Miniature Schnauzers Gus and Bernie, who qualified for nationals in his first year of competing! As well as her Standard Poodle, Rafiki, and her Sheltie, Bella, who is a NADAC Champion. Rafiki is also a working Medical Alert Dog and training for Water Fowl retrieval in her spare time.
At Urban Pooch Grace teaches private and group agility classes from puppies to competition and will be teaching group obedience training classes as well. Grace uses only positive training methods and believes in having fun while learning new skills that enhance the bond between dogs and their owners.
When not at work Grace volunteers with shelters and rescue groups in Naperville to help the disabled connect and train service dogs. She also founded Beard & Golden a hand-made custom clothing company providing dog gear and accessories.

Pamela Davis
Pamela is a teacher and coach who specializes in helping people understand, communicate with, and train their pet dogs. Her training methodology is compassionate and science-based and focuses on rewarding desired behaviors. Pamela’s approach is also informed by her background in theatre and education. She prioritizes empathy, clear communication, and active participation from both human and canine learners. Always a keen student of motivation and behavior, Pamela studied electoral politics and acting at UC Berkeley before moving to Chicago to attend graduate school at DePaul and embark on a career as a theatre maker and educator. Although she always loved animals and was fascinated by the way they think, learn, and move, it wasn’t until she adopted her current dog, an intense pit mix named Bea Arfur, that she discovered her passion for “serious” dog training. After completing an apprenticeship with Lisa Collins and Karen Okura at Collins Canine, she opened her own dog training and enrichment business before joining the team at Urban Pooch Training and Fitness Center. At Urban Pooch, Pamela teaches Levels Obedience, a flexible, progressive training program that moves at the pace of each individual dog-human team. In addition to Obedience, Pamela also teaches Junior Dog for adolescents (4-8 months) and two behavioral specialty classes – Confidence Club, for fearful dogs who shut down when stressed, and Reactive Dog, for those who get “barky-lungy” on leash. Pamela has her CPDT-KA certification from the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers and is an evaluator for the AKC’s Canine Good Citizen, STAR Puppy, and Tricks programs. A strong believer in continuing education, she has studied with Michael Shikashio, Amy Cook, Nancy Tucker, Sarah Stremming, and Denise Fenzi, and strives to stay curious and current on all approaches to human and canine learning.

Coco grew up with a love and understanding of dogs from a young age. Family pets consisted of Golden Retrievers from her grandparents to German Shepards who were too goofy to become police dogs.
Prior to working in a caregiver capacity with animals, Coco worked in the entertainment industry. From working as a Radio Engineer at Clear Channel to Promotional work at Victory Records and finally a Morning News Director at WGN.
Animals have always held a special place in her life, but it wasn't until she became a kennel tech and then vet tech at PAWS that she saw the potential to help dogs who needed it most. Coco left Chicago and moved to Seattle to attend the Northwest School of Canine Studies where she became a certified dog trainer. Her passion to always assist those in rescue environments kept her busy! She ran an extensive training program for a Greyhound rehoming
organization in the PNW for the last 4 years. In that time she also expanded her knowledge as an accredited member of the IAABC. Coco loves to take on the hard cases and found her speciality among fearful dogs. Her patience and attention to detail have helped numerous shelter dogs grow into loving and understood companions.
She spends her time off with her husband Billy, rescue whippet Leon and four rambunctious cats. Her hobbies include camping, biking, sewing, playing ukulele and dominating in board games!

Skills such as: Polite Greetings; Loose Leash Walking; Come When Called; Attention and Eye Contact; Basics such as Sit, Down, Stand and Stay; Harnessing/Leashing Up; Target training such as Go-to-Bed or Touch Targets; Potty Training; Puppy Mouthing; and Play Skills such as Fetch, Tug (with humans), and ALL DONE.

Our Ask A Trainer service is a one-time service we offer at a discounted rate of $30 for new clients. It gives new training clients a 30 minute session via Zoom or phone where they can ask one of our professional trainers anything they would like for the time period. If later on you want to follow up on any of these discussion points and want a more focused lesson to overcome these issues and build skills, then you would need to book either an onsite private or Zoom private instead.

Join us for this comprehensive 6-week online course where you will work one-on-one with a Certified Professional Dog Trainer who will coach you every step of the way. What is included in this course:
1) Five weeks of 45-minute, one-on-one classes with your Trainer done over Zoom.
2) Weekly e-mails from your Trainer to refresh or expand on concepts discussed in class.

You know you want to teach them some basic obedience skills but that’s not what matters to you most. You want to bond with your new dog pal, and you want to know where to start! Join us for this special 4-week course where you will work one-on-one with a Certified Professional Dog Trainer to become your new dog’s greatest ally. Learn the fundamentals of positive reinforcement-based training, gain the skills to set your dog up for success, and begin the journey to a trust-filled partnership. Pretty soon you’ll be asking, who rescued who?
