Loren Academic Services, Inc. (LAS) is an educational services company that supports students, families, residents and faculty. LAS understands that students and residents face competing demands for their time and these demands can greatly impact learning, achievement, and well-being. Fortunately, LAS Instructors can help!
LAS Instructors are trained and skilled; they are experienced tutors and educators who provide help at the point of need.
LAS ExtraHelp (TM) is currently available to middle school and high school students requesting assistance for homework support, school projects, non-standardized test prep, and academic papers. Extra Help (TM) meetings focus on comprehension and organization skills; however, this program does not replace executive functioning support provided through our LAS Scholastic Management Program.

I began working at LAS as I finished my doctorate and I’ve been here supporting clients on the scholastic and medical sides since 2016. In addition to 1:1 student work, I have designed and run workshops on writing, the Common App personal essay, and empathy.
I received my BA in British Literature with a minor in philosophy in 2006; my MA in Religion, Literature, and Culture in 2009; and my PhD in English Language and Literature in 2019. In addition to tutoring, I am a writer and an educator in the field of medical humanities; I knit; I bake, and I watch lots and lots of Sci-Fi shows.

I have been with LAS since March of 2019. I was initially drawn to LAS because of its reputation for going above and beyond with regard to helping students from different academic backgrounds who face different learning challenges. Outside of LAS, I work in microbiology, and with adults with special needs. LAS' philosophy and mission are an ideal fit for my personality, skills, and values.
I have a Bachelors in Biology and a Masters in Biotechnology and Chemical Sciences. I’m also an avid long-distance runner and love to do photography during my free time.

I have been working at LAS since 2015. I've worked as a scholastic manager and medical coach. My bachelor's degree is in Liberal Arts with majors in English and psychology.
My master's and doctorate degrees are in counseling and counseling psychology. A bit about me: I enjoy knitting, crafting, and playing with my cat. Reading and cooking are fun too!

I have over 6 years of experience as a tutor, and I currently work in private practice as a child and adolescent therapist.
I received my B.S. in psychology with a concentration in neuroscience in 2012, and my MA in Counseling with a concentration in child and adolescent therapy in 2019. When I am not counseling or tutoring, I am most likely woodworking, watching fly-on-the-wall medical documentaries, or walking my dog.
