Stimulate meridian points (‘tsubo’) used in acupuncture treatment by pressing and unknotting them with fingertips to clear the stagnation of ‘Qi’. By incorporating the anatomical and physiological approach cultivated during my time as a yoga instructor, I help relax over-tense muscles and realign bones, guiding the body to its most gentle use and posture (easy breathing body). Similar to acupuncture, which directly stimulates tsubo by piercing the skin with needles, this method gently spreads its effect throughout the body like an echo. Most clients fall asleep during the session.

Build your confidence in our Adult Conversation Club so you can easily speak English to others, without feeling nervous or self-consciousEach member of the Adult Conversation Club will receive 2 bookings to a 30 minute long group conversation class each week.Who is this class for?This class is for adults, 18 years and older, who are looking to improve their conversation skills. Students should have a basic understanding of English, and be able to put together simple imperfect sentences. The main prerequisite is an understanding of spoken English. We will teach you how to speak proper English during class, so don't worry if you can't!What happens in class?Each class, we will engage in different activities to enhance and improve your spoken English. We will learn how to hold different types of conversations through the use of fun games (don't worry- we won't be playing games for children!), group work, and other activities.What do I need to attend class?Class will be hosted on Zoom. You will need a device compatible with Zoom. In addition, we ask that students dedicate a notebook to this class, and bring their notebook and a pen to class. Although this is a speaking class, we will be learning lots of new words and phrases to help you improve your spoken English. On occasion, we may engage in activities that require some writing. If you do not have your notebook, you will still be allowed to participate in class. However, this simple tool is a very easy way to accelerate your learning speed and improve language retention.Who is the teacher?Class is conducted by Jillian Shanahan. Jillian has been teaching ESL to students professionally since 2018. She lives in Buffalo, New York (USA) and is TESOL certified. More importantly, Jillian has developed a method of teaching English to students through what is known in the teaching world as differentiated instruction. She is able to effectively teach group lessons, and still challenge each student appropriately. When does class take place?As a member of the Adult Conversation Club, you will receive 2 sessions per week. You can choose which sessions fit into your schedule, so there is a level of flexibility. As the conversation club grows, more session options will be added (so don't be afraid to invite your friends)!What makes this different than other ESL classes that I've taken?Our Adult Conversation Club is a space where English learners can relax, hang out, and make friends while learning English. In this relaxed environment, you can practice your English speaking skills with other learners in a comfortable, fun, and supportive environment. We do not focus on textbooks in this class, and will learn to speak English the way that native speakers do. As your language skills improve, so will your confidence.
